Why the Albatross?
The albatross has long been a symbol of burden, memory, and consequence.
In ancient seafaring lore, the albatross was seen as a guardian spirit — a soul of the ocean that watched over those who sailed its waters. To harm an albatross was to invite a curse; to disrespect the natural world was to carry a weight that could never be cast off.
At Red Quill Society, we carry the spirit of the albatross.
We are the watchers — soaring where others turn a blind eye, bearing witness to the harm done to our planet, and refusing to let the guilty slip quietly into the fog.
The albatross reminds us:
The sea remembers. The land remembers. And so do we.
