We’re entirely volunteer-run, and every dollar raised goes directly to the mission.

PARTNERSHIPS

Collaboration without compromise.

Collaboration With Purpose, Boundaries With Intention

Red Quill Society works in partnership — but not without limits.

Our collaborations are designed to strengthen evidence integrity, protect sources, and ensure that environmental accountability work is conducted responsibly, lawfully, and without compromise.

We partner selectively, transparently, and with clear roles.

Our Partnership Philosophy

Red Quill Society is an independent evidence and documentation body.

Partnerships exist to support that role — not to influence findings, accelerate disclosure, or shape outcomes.

We do not operate as a campaign platform, advocacy arm, or enforcement body.

Partnerships are built around shared values, not shared messaging.

Who We Partner With

Red Quill Society collaborates with organisations and individuals whose work aligns with rigorous evidence standards and ethical restraint, including:

  • Investigative journalists and documentary teams
  • Academic researchers and research institutions
  • Environmental scientists and technical specialists
  • Legal experts and policy advisors
  • Indigenous and community-led monitoring initiatives
  • Civil society organisations with aligned mandates

Partnerships may be project-based, advisory, or long-term.

What Partnerships May Involve

Depending on scope and mandate, partnerships may include:

  • Joint evidence collection or verification
  • Secure data sharing under defined agreements
  • Technical analysis or subject-matter expertise
  • Documentation or archival collaboration
  • Legal or jurisdictional advisory support

All collaborations are governed by written agreements outlining roles, responsibilities, and boundaries.

What Partnerships Do Not Involve

Red Quill Society does not enter partnerships that require:

  • Editorial or investigative influence
  • Pre-determined conclusions
  • Accelerated publication timelines
  • Suppression or distortion of evidence
  • Use of evidence for political or commercial leverage

We do not lend our name, materials, or credibility to campaigns that compromise independence.

Independence & Evidence Control

In all partnerships:

  • Red Quill Society retains control over its evidence
  • Partners do not dictate disclosure decisions
  • Evidence standards and review processes remain unchanged
  • Source protection obligations are non-negotiable

Collaboration does not dilute responsibility.

Legal, Ethical & Safety Alignment

All partnerships must align with:

  • Red Quill Society’s Evidence Standards
  • Source Protection and Whistleblower Protocols
  • Redaction & Anonymisation Standards
  • Publication Review & Legal Safeguards
  • Applicable legal and jurisdictional requirements

Where alignment is not possible, partnership does not proceed.

Indigenous & Community Partnerships

When working with Indigenous nations or local communities, partnerships are built on:

  • Consent and mutual understanding
  • Respect for knowledge sovereignty
  • Clear agreements around use, access, and disclosure
  • Long-term relationship considerations

Evidence stewardship does not override community rights.

Funding & Support Relationships

Financial support or in-kind assistance does not confer:

  • Editorial influence
  • Priority access to information
  • Control over publication or referral decisions

Donors support the mission — they do not steer it.

Exploring a Partnership

Organisations or individuals interested in working with Red Quill Society should be prepared to discuss:

  • Purpose and scope of collaboration
  • Evidence handling and security considerations
  • Legal and jurisdictional context
  • Ethical alignment and boundaries

Not all inquiries result in partnerships.

That selectivity is intentional.

Why This Matters

Environmental accountability work fails when independence is blurred.

Clear, principled partnerships allow Red Quill Society to collaborate effectively — without sacrificing credibility, safety, or trust.

Collaboration strengthens evidence.
Boundaries protect it.

Partnership Models at a Glance

Red Quill Society vs. Expedition Audacity Research Foundation

While Red Quill Society and the Expedition Audacity Research Foundation share values around integrity, responsibility, and evidence, their partnership models serve very different purposes.

Understanding that distinction matters.

Expedition Audacity Research Foundation (EAR)

Collaborative & Programmatic Partnerships

EAR partnerships are designed to support:

  • Scientific research and data collection
  • Education, storytelling, and public engagement
  • Technology testing and innovation at sea
  • Long-term programme development
  • Indigenous-led and community-centred collaboration

EAR partnerships are often co-creative, forward-looking, and designed to generate shared outputs, learning, and public benefit.

Red Quill Society (RQS)

Independent & Evidence-Bound Partnerships

RQS partnerships exist to support:

  • Evidence verification and preservation
  • Secure documentation of environmental harm
  • Investigative and analytical work
  • Legal, technical, or subject-matter expertise
  • Responsible escalation and disclosure

RQS partnerships are deliberately constrained.

They prioritise:

  • Independence over alignment
  • Boundaries over visibility
  • Process over pace

Collaboration supports the work — it does not shape conclusions.

Why This Separation Exists

Some work benefits from openness, collaboration, and shared creation.

Other work demands restraint, distance, and clear separation from influence.

Maintaining distinct partnership models allows both organisations to operate credibly and effectively — without blurring mandates or compromising trust.

In Short

EAR partnerships build futures.
RQS partnerships protect facts.

Both matter.
They just operate differently.
